the location and despite the amount of families and "young people" at the swim up bar, my room was quiet and I wasn't really disturbed.
I was only there 1 night but it was very nice.
pool complex was great for kids.
A few dollars should be spent on replacing worn gym equipment. Torn upholstery should be replaced and a fresh coat of paint, would not cost much but make the centre much better than it already is,
All we needed, pool, air con, apartment style, very comfortable, meals available if needed, excellent positioning for our holiday purposes.
flippant attitude of reception staff when told cant get hold of hotel manager to inform him that I ate in hotel restaurant and ended up at doctor with food poisoning! This ruined our stay with upset stomach. They were not interested and no one phoned me back.
**Note for this and following. I will say what I think here and don't want to be contacted further. I have said I wouldn't return but it's mainly because I don't like resorts. ** I thought the apartment was well set up, and pleasant to stay in
The food was on average poor. Not good tasting, presentation only moderate; set lunches (for conference) had unimaginative selection of foods, poorly cooked. Dressings and sauces were particulalry poor; accompaniments at meal times limited (e.g. prawns as main meal with 2 meagre dried thin slices of "bread"). The best thing about the food was having platters of fresh fruit at most occasions.
Relaxed by the pool and within comfort of room also. Took advantage of facilities in Port Douglas including visit to the Reef and Rainforest, both even better than expected.
Limited menu in dining room; transport back and forth to PD.
The privacy of the suite, beautiful gardwns
Lovely people - very relaxing Would be a great idea to inlcude directions to the gym and the beach - these are great and close by.
Nice vegetation, great bar, very good food at the restaurant and the bar. Good spa options.
They messed up the booking for our ride to the airport, but they were kind enough to book us a towncar to take us there.
its quirky style, really like the outdoor dining and seating area the pool area with swim up bar was really cool, staff were friendly and helpful
would have liked a firmer mattress as i kept getting lower back pain
It was a super-stylish hotel, staff were very helpful and the surroundings were beautiful.
Lovely staff and feel to the resort. When we had a problem with unruly neighbours, they stepped right up to help us out. The food, while pricey, is truly gourmet fare--even at the bar. Our teenagers enjoyed the pool table and ping pong in the lobby and were made to feel very welcome. A really relaxed luxury feel to the resort overall. The rooms and view were lovely with all the amenities expected in a luxury resort style room.
We wished that there was a heated pool or at least a spa tub as we went in July. The location is a good brisk 25min walk from town and with 4 people in our family, it cost us $32 to take the shuttle there and back. We wished we had rented a car. These are really small complaints when you look at our enjoyment over all.
It felt very relaxed (beachy)yet decadent. The staff at the front office, bar and kitchen staff were outstanding.....nothing was too much trouble, polite and interactive. The bed was very very comfortable. The evening dining experience exceptional value for money...highly recommend to at least experience this once.
We found the house keeping to be less then average. There was always something missing every day (most days multiple things not replenished)...I.E. No face washers or hand towels, shampoo, soap, and tea bags. Room service was happy to pop over with the missing items and most apologetic. End up buying our own tea bags/coffee, soap and shampoo, and face washers. We found the room to be quite warm/humid and though it came with a cealing fan and airconditioner......the fan on high or the airconditioner on was too noisey to sleep with.
Staff very friendly and apartments serviced every day of our stay. Wide range of facilities to suit all members of the family. Excellent design features at the hotel and regular bus service into town.
The one bedroom kitchenette apartment was spacious and well equipped. The cost per night for this resort compared very favourably against other resorts of a similar calibre. All staff were friendly and dealt with any queries promptly and pleasantly, making it obvious they valued their customers. Having a full fitness centre on site was a real bonus.
We felt the choice of restaurants for an evening meal was limited - two extremes with a full buffet at one end and a casual bar type experience at the other with very few selections. We ate out more because of this.
